 About the conference

The Children Act 2004, through the Stay Safe Outcome of the Every Child Matters Change for Children Programme, places a duty on organisations and individuals to safeguard and promote the well being of children.

In recent years, concern has been raised about the potential vulnerability of adults working with children and Adults.  It has been acknowledged that there is a need for clearer advice about what constitutes illegal behaviour, what might be considered as misconduct and which behaviours might also suggest an individual is unsuitable to work with children and Adults.

At present there is a consultation document being sent out to all departments in Education and Social Services and has been produced by the Allegations Management Advisers (AMAs), a network established by the DfES in April of last year and as part of the AMA network.

Social Care Training Ltd offers a one day course which is intended to supply all Adults who work with children and Adults guidance and building on knowledge about how allegations arise, and to support these adults by providing clear guidance about appropriate behaviours which if followed, can minimise the risk of allegations being made against them.

  • Build on knowledge about how allegations arise
  • Support the adults in a management position by providing clear guidance about appropriate staff behaviour which if followed, can minimise the risk of allegations being made against staff
